We all love to follow what our favorite celebrities are up to. When those celebrities take to the skies, we get a glimpse into their real lives in a way we’ve never seen them before.
Follow their fears, watch their excitement and see what celebrities look like when the wind hits them at 120mph! Here are just a few celebrities who’ve taken to the skies.
Maisie Williams (a.k.a. Arya Stark)
You may know Maisie as Arya Stark, long scorned, recently empowered member of the Winterfell-born family in Game of Thrones.
When she’s not crossing people off her ‘list’, Arya has far more pressing matters to attend to – namely, skydiving! She first jumped in 2015 at a drop zone in the UK, having bought a tandem skydive for her boyfriend. As soon as the DZ owners recognized her, they offered her a jump too (a smart move on their part as her skydive made the British press).
Maisie loved her jump so much, she returned two weeks later to jump as part of a Guinness World Record attempt at the same skydiving center.
Will Smith
In West California, born and raised, on the playground was where he spent most of his days (yes Fresh Prince fans!). These days, actor and musician Will Smith can be found starring in some of Hollywood’s biggest hit movies.
In a well-earned vacation with wife Jada Pinkett Smith in 2014, Will headed to Dubai where he went both indoor and outdoor skydiving.
In fact, he loved it so much, he returned weeks later with his sons Jaden and Trey, who also got to experience the thrill of skydiving.
Liam Hemsworth
He’s best known for his role in the Hunger Games, but did you know Liam Hemsworth got his adrenaline pumping for real back in 2014 with a tandem skydive?
Liam’s jump was part of a feature in Nylon magazine. His whole experience, from pre to post jump, was documented by the journalist, who said Liam absolutely loved his jump.
Patrick Swayze
Have you ever seen ‘Point Break‘? In this movie from 1991, Swayze, along with co-star Keanu Reeves, makes a skydive during which the characters are seen speaking to one another in freefall, each encouraging the other to deploy his parachute first.
While the idea of speaking in freefall is a fallacy, Swayze’s skydiving career was not. He jumped for a hobby prior to filming and was encouraged to stop for insurance purposes, with the proviso that he be allowed to skydive for real one time for the film.
The scene you see with him ‘adios amigo’ is really him skydiving!
Tom Cruise
Well known for his action-packed scenes in films like Mission Impossible, Cruise is a real life adrenaline junkie too – and if reports are to be believed, so is his mom!
Tom, along with his mom and Nicole Kidman, completed their AFF (accelerated freefall) course here in the States.
If you’d like to experience the sport of the stars, and live in the NYC area, book your skydive with Long Island Skydiving Center today.
