Is Skydiving For Me? 4 Things You Should Ask Yourself
Skydiving

Skydiving isn’t for everybody – and that’s okay! It is, however, for significantly more people than most folks know, and that’s a problem we’re trying to fix for the good of the world. After all, if you’re wondering if skydiving is really something you should try, a few pervasive little false assumptions can get in your way. That’s a shame – because there’s a good chance that skydiving is just the thing you need to fling yourself triumphantly into the next level in life! We know you’ll be glad to rid yourself of these silly myths, so let’s get started in answering your most pressing 4 questions before you book that first tandem jump:
1. Is skydiving for people with a death wish?
Absolutely not. There are plenty of weird misunderstandings about our sport, and of the bunch of them, we find this one the most frustrating. Why? Because it’s the most dramatically untrue of them all.
In reality, people who make the decision to jump are as far from death-wish territory as you can get. Really, people who embrace the experience of a skydive love life like crazy and are really, truly seeking to squeeze every last drop from their short time on earth. Skydiving means living life to the fullest — and then finding ways to live just a little more. But don’t take our word… listen to Will Smith describe his experience:
2. Is skydiving just for adrenaline junkies?
We’re sure that there are plenty of adrenaline junkies who skydive. What you might find a little weird is that we don’t see ’em around here too often. What we do see a lot of is perfectly well-adjusted, smart, safety-minded first-time jumpers.
We host those guys every single day, and we’ve been doing so for many years. Our jumpers are business people, full-time moms, grandparents, caregivers — basically, hard-working folks from every walk of life, many of which have never done anything like this before, and every one of which leaves wearing a great big grin.
3. Is skydiving just for young people?
The myth that you have to be really fit and young to skydive is probably one that comes from the general condition of the stuntpeople who perform skydiving scenes in the movies. In real life, skydivers aren’t stuntpeople, and they run the gamut of age and condition.
To be a skydiver, you don’t need to use the heck out of a gym membership. All you have to do is meet the minimum skydiving age and maximum weight requirements and you’re probably good to go. If you have a concern about jumping with a pre-existing medical condition, just chat with your doctor about it. Because very few medical conditions are skydiving deal-breakers – you might be pleasantly surprised at the positive response.
4. Is skydiving a crazy move?
We believe that NOT skydiving is the crazy move, actually. Making that first tandem skydive is a natural next step for pretty much anybody who’s on the lookout for an amazing new adventure, so reach on out to us to make your reservation today! We’ll be more than happy to answer any other questions that might come up. We’re looking forward to proving that yes, skydiving is definitely for YOU!
