Skydiving is an experience that’s difficult to describe to people who haven’t tried it before. It’s very exciting, but can also be quite nerve wracking.

For many of the people who jump with us, skydiving can feel like a form of therapy. Of course, strictly speaking, skydiving isn’t therapy, but here are a few of the reasons you may find it helps you.

Forget Your Stresses

We recently had a man jump with us who ran his own business. He told us he had been worrying about profits and suppliers and his workforce – all the things you’d expect a business owner to think about.

Once he’d completed his skydive, he told us he’d never felt so relaxed, and we asked him why. “How can you think about business stresses when you’re falling at 120mph through the air?” he asked us. And we agree!

It’s tough to focus on things that are worrying or stressing you when you’re jumping from an airplane. Skydiving gives you a rare opportunity to live in the moment.

Skydiving and Empowerment

Skydiving can be a very empowering experience.

For many people, jumping from a perfectly good airplane is something they would never even consider. For the people who do jump, it’s often a once in a lifetime experience that’s nothing like anything they’ve done before.

Whether you’re jumping to complete a bucket list goal or plan to jump as a hobby, the very act of completing a skydive sets you apart from other people. It shows that you’re willing to take a leap of faith into what is, for you, the unknown. If you’re jumping despite a fear or doing it to prove something to yourself, skydiving gives you a rewarding feeling of satisfaction, like you can do anything.

The Skydiving Community

Another thing that makes skydiving so great is the community that surrounds it. Many of the people who take up skydiving as a hobby are looking for something new to bring the spark back into their life, or to provide a focus. Many are looking to meet new people and make new friends.

One of the reasons for the incredible bond between skydivers is a shared willingness to put trust in other people and do something extraordinary. That’s probably why skydivers get along so well; we’re a group of people with a common passion and we love spending time together. Start skydiving as a hobby and you’re sure to find your place in an incredible, global community.
